So far, the UpLabs community has hosted 5 challenges and it seems like you guys can’t get enough of them! After the awesome experiences we all had with the Movie Ticket Challenge, the Flight Booking Challenge, the MaterialUp Onboarding Challenge, the Delivery UI Challenge & the Flight Booking Challenge, it’s time to keep the conversation going. This time the question is:
Can you create the Chat Interaction of the future as an app or a website?
If you think you know how this should look and feel like, then join the Chat Interaction Challenge to enjoy the collective creative process with fellow designers from all over the world who love to learn and share ideas with each other. Show your skills and creative mind and submit your vision of a Chat Interaction experience that’s friendly, easy to use and delightful to the eyes — if the community agrees, the prize will be yours!
At UpLabs there’s never one sole winner though— taking part of the challenge means that we will showcase your creations in the website and social feeds, so you all get the exposure and recognition you deserve. And just as the cherry on top of the cake, if you are voted as the winner of the challenge, you’ll receive… ⤵️
The prize
A unique one-on-one personal mentorship session of 45 minutes with Johny Vino, UX and Product Designer & #1 UpLabs Designer.

Here’s the challenge
Create a fun, intuitive app or website workflow that reimagines a Chat Interaction design. Take into account that the interface needs to be something new and not yet seen for most of users, so don’t be afraid to break the rules of the conventional boring chatting interfaces. Show in your submission how users can attach files seamlessly without affecting the ongoing chat and also how to switch easily between several chats.
Your submission can be UI screens, an animation, a prototype or even a coded solution! We ask you to upload your submission or submit a link to your Dribbble shot, Github repo, CodePen, etc.
We offer you complete freedom, so DO think outside of the box: experiment with the usual guidelines, push your own limits and come up with unique ways to make booking movie tickets an easy and fun process. This is a chance to create what YOU want, without external constrains. The more daring, the more impressive it will be for us and the UpLabs community!
Quick timeline
✔︎ Registration & submission: August 7 → August 21 (2 weeks to polish your submission)
✔︎ Voting : August 22→ August 31 (10 days)
✔︎ Winner announced : September 1!
How to participate
To join the challenge, register here and submit your work by August 21, 2017.
Our Jury will carefully select the finalists, following the challenge guidelines.
The finalists will then compete for the chance to win the grand prize of a mentorship session with Johny Vino, UX and Product Designer & #1 UpLabs Designer.
